The project
This Grade II listed barn in Acton Trussell was dilapidated when we took it on, and it was completely stripped back and converted, retaining its original features and charm throughout, both inside and out. It was not a single barn either: the site included several structures and a garage, all brought back into use as part of the same project. Inside, oak beams run throughout, with an oak staircase, a full-height feature window and a glass walkway linking the bedrooms. Underfloor heating and MVHR ventilation make a centuries-old building genuinely comfortable and efficient to live in. Our client asked us to manage the project from start to finish, handling planning, listed building consent, architects, design and all building work, which we were more than happy to do. Local trades and suppliers were used throughout. A great project for a returning client, and one we're proud to have delivered. If you have an old barn, outbuilding or property in Staffordshire or Penkridge and don't know where to start, send us a message and we'll come over, take a look at the structure and talk through your options.
