The project
When we took this on the farmhouse was tired, damp and long overdue attention, with original brickwork, gables and joinery all needing careful work rather than replacement. It is being rebuilt using the original materials wherever we can save them, insulated properly and refitted throughout, so the house will be warm and efficient without losing the character that made it worth saving in the first place. The kind of project that takes patience, and the kind we enjoy most. Photographs of the completed renovation are coming soon.
What we did
- —Clearance, structural repairs and re-roofing
- —Rebuilding walls using the original reclaimed brick
- —Full insulation upgrade, services and glazing
- —Complete internal refurbishment and external works
